Kodi — Setup Guide

Kodi is a powerful open-source media center that supports IPTV through the PVR IPTV Simple Client add-on.

Setup Steps

Step 1: Install Kodi

Download and install Kodi from kodi.tv. Available for Windows, Mac, Android, and more.

Step 2: Install PVR IPTV Simple Client

Open Kodi, go to Add-onsInstall from RepositoryKodi Add-on RepositoryPVR ClientsPVR IPTV Simple ClientInstall.

Step 3: Configure the Add-on

Go to Add-onsMy Add-onsPVR ClientsPVR IPTV Simple ClientConfigure.

Step 4: Add M3U URL

In the General tab, set Location to Remote Path (Internet Address). Paste your World Media Server M3U URL in the M3U Play List URL field.

Step 5: Add EPG (Optional)

In the EPG Settings tab, set Location to Remote Path. Enter your XMLTV EPG URL in the XMLTV URL field.

Step 6: Enable and Restart

Click OK to save, then restart Kodi. Your channels will appear under TVChannels in the main menu.

Tips

  • Install the Estuary or Aeon Nox skin for a better TV-friendly interface
  • Enable hardware acceleration in Settings → Player → Videos for smooth playback
  • Use a wireless keyboard or the Kodi app on your phone as a remote
  • Kodi supports 4K HDR playback with proper hardware acceleration settings
  • Back up your Kodi configuration (Settings → Backups) before making major changes
