Smart TVs from Samsung and LG are among the most popular in the world, and the good news is that both support IPTV natively through their app stores. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to set up World Media Server on your Smart TV — no extra hardware required.
Samsung Smart TV: Using Smart IPTV
Smart IPTV (also known as SIPTV) is the most popular IPTV solution for Samsung Tizen TVs.

LG Smart TV: Using SS IPTV or Net IPTV
LG WebOS TVs (2016+) support several IPTV applications. The two most reliable are SS IPTV and Net IPTV.
Option A: SS IPTV (Recommended for LG)

Troubleshooting Smart TV IPTV Issues
Channels Not Loading
- Verify your M3U URL is correct and not expired
- Check your internet connection speed (run a speed test on your TV)
- Try restarting the app and the TV
Buffering on HD/4K Channels
- Switch from WiFi to Ethernet using a USB LAN adapter
- Reduce the stream quality in app settings (try HD instead of 4K)
- Check if other devices are using bandwidth on your network
App Not Found in Store
Some older Samsung and LG Smart TVs may not have access to the app store. In this case, use a Fire Stick, Android box, or Chromecast with Google TV as an alternative.
EPG Not Showing Programme Information
- Wait 15–30 minutes after adding the EPG URL
- Some channels may not have EPG data available
- Try forcing a manual EPG update in the app settings
Alternative: Chromecast and Apple TV
If your Smart TV isn’t compatible with the above apps, consider:
- Chromecast with Google TV — supports all Android apps including TiviMate
- Apple TV — supports IPTV Smarters and other iOS-compatible apps
- Amazon Fire Stick — the most widely recommended IPTV device
All of these plug directly into your TV’s HDMI port and work with your existing TV remote (with HDMI-CEC enabled).
